Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of manalabs.com, operated by Mana Labs (“we”, “I”), a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under KvK number 42116400, owned by Michael Zijlstra. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site.
What this site is
A personal site: a development blog about a game in progress, notes on software, and information about Mana Labs' consulting work. It is provided for reading and discussion, free of charge.
Accounts
Reading requires no account. Commenting requires signing in with Google or GitHub. You are responsible for what is posted from your account, and for keeping access to the provider account you sign in with secure.
We may suspend or remove an account at our discretion, particularly where the rules below are being ignored.
Comments
Comments are moderated. A new commenter's first contribution is reviewed before it appears; after that, comments may be published immediately and reviewed afterwards. We may edit, decline, remove or delay any comment, for any reason, without notice and without explanation. This is a personal site, not a public forum, and there is no right of publication here.
Do not post:
- anything unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- harassment, abuse, threats, or content attacking people for who they are;
- spam, advertising, link schemes, or automated submissions;
- other people's personal information;
- malware, or attempts to break, probe or overload the site.
You may edit your own comment for a short window after posting. Once that window closes the text is fixed, so that replies quoting you continue to make sense.
Who owns what
You keep the copyright in the comments you write. By posting one, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute it as part of this site, including in feeds. You can ask us to remove your comments at any time.
The site's own content — posts, images, the Mana Labs name and logo — belongs to Mana Labs. Please do not republish it wholesale without asking. Quoting a reasonable extract with a link back is welcome and needs no permission. Code samples in posts may be used freely in your own work.
Availability
The site is provided as-is and as-available. We make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that anything published here is accurate or fit for any particular purpose. Posts describe work in progress and may be wrong or go out of date.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site, including the comment section, at any time.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Mana Labs is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, or from anything you relied on here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Comments by other people
Comments express the views of whoever wrote them, not ours. Moderating a comment section does not mean we endorse what survives moderation. If something here should not be, email us and we will look at it.
Privacy
What we collect and why is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes arising from them go before the competent Dutch court, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring the matter before a court where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after that means accepting the new version.
